What is Nutritional Therapy?
Nutritional Therapy is a holistic and functional approach to nutrition and wellness. Not only does this work focus on nutrition + food but also centers sleep, stress, movement, and other external factors. Nutritional Therapy centers on a person as a whole and their unique needs. It uses the Foundations of Health to bring the body back into balance. Nutritional Therapy is a root-cause approach; no band-aid fixes here.
My role as a NTP is to empower individuals to become knowledgable about and responsible for their own health. As a NTP, I support the body’s innate ability to heal by addressing the importance of nutrient-dense, whole foods, anatomy, physiology, lifestyle choices, culinary wellness, and how social factors impact health in my work. I use the holistic + functional framework Nutritional Therapy offers to help clients understand the “why” behind their symptoms and guide them toward better health.
Nutritional Therapy FAQs
-
A Nutritional Therapy Practitioner evaluates a client’s unique nutritional needs and goals. They meet clients where they are at and make appropriate bio-individual dietary and lifestyle recommendations to support the body in its natural healthy functions. NTPs do not practice medical nutrition nor do they diagnose or treat disease. NTPs do not act as a subsitute for doctors or any other licensed healthcare providers.

Bio-individuality is a principle that recognizes everyone has their own unique circumstances, challenges, lifestyle, and environmental factors which influence what particular foods may serve someone best in the moment. It recognizes there is no one-size-fits-all diet. TLDR: it’s a nutrition principle that recognizes your individuality.

I support my clients in numerous ways. My practice centers on gut health and nervous system regulation so many of my clients want to address symptoms related to their gut and nervous system health. I help clients understand the root of their symptoms and guide them through implementing sustainable changes into their lives. While gut and nervous system health are my areas of passion, those aren’t the only areas I support my clients with. I’ve helped clients combat cooking anxiety, navigate food allergies, improve blood glucose levels, develop movement practices, get their sleep schedules back on track, + support endocrine + immune health.
